You see a lot of numbers in your placements and are not quite sure what they mean? Here we explain all the key figures.
Placements
Placements shows the number of unique widget placements in the selected period. Each placement stands for one spot on your website where a poll widget is embedded.
Domains
Shows the number of domains covered by your current selection and your selected period.
Served
This value shows how many widgets have been served in total. It means that our global.js script is loaded on the page and has found the placeholder in the HTML. The widget itself has not loaded yet, and the user sees nothing of it.
Initialized
This value shows how often the search for a matching poll was started. With lazy loading — our standard — this happens as soon as the user scrolls to the area of the page where the widget sits. With eager loading, the search starts immediately when the page is opened.
Rendered
Shows how often the content of a widget was built. It means that the poll, the quiz or the personality test is being built in the background.
How meaningful this value is depends on how the Pinpoll element is embedded. With a manually published poll, the content is fixed in advance through its specific ID — here rendering really only fails if the user leaves the page beforehand. With AI polls, on the other hand, a matching poll first has to exist for the article. The value therefore says more about how well delivery is working.
Displayed
This value shows how many served widgets were actually seen by the user. It means that at least 50% of the poll appeared on the user's screen.
Fill rate
The fill rate shows how often a placeholder was successfully filled with content, meaning a poll, a quiz or a personality test. A high value means that a matching poll was available for most placements.
Calculation: rendered widgets ÷ initialized widgets × 100
Note: If "auto publish" is switched on, an AI poll is only created for the most-viewed articles of the day - as many as you have set in the limit - and only once the article has at least 10 views. If the setting is switched off, suggestions are created for the 20 most-viewed articles instead, which you can publish manually. As long as no poll exists for an article, its placeholder stays empty.
Quality score
The quality score relates the display rate to the fill rate and shows how well a widget is placed on a page. A high value means that the widgets were not only filled but also actually visible.
Calculation: display rate ÷ fill rate × 100
Initialization rate
To see how many of the delivered widgets loaded successfully, you can look at the initialization rate.
A widget counts as initialized as soon as it has been loaded by the browser and prepared for display. With placements that use lazy loading — our standard — this only happens once the user reaches the relevant area of the page.
Calculation: initialized widgets ÷ served widgets × 100
Render rate
The render rate shows for how many of the served widgets the poll, the quiz or the personality test was built successfully.
Calculation: rendered widgets ÷ served widgets × 100
Display rate
The display rate shows what proportion of the delivered widgets was actually seen by users. A widget counts as seen as soon as at least 50% of it has appeared in the user's visible area.
Calculation: displayed widgets ÷ served widgets × 100
