Here's what sets the new version apart.
Iframeless
The Pinpoll widget integrates natively into your website. It does not run in an iframe - an isolated window within the page - it becomes a seamless part of the page itself.
Design
The design looks more modern and meets today's standards.
Resource size
At just under 150 kB, the widget is a lightweight by today's standards — and that is what makes it fast. Three things set it apart from v1:
Less code to load: v1 comes with most functions built in. v2 loads them only when they are needed and works entirely without a framework, which makes the scripts around ten times smaller and correspondingly faster to load.
No detour via an iframe: v1 has to build one first before any scripts can load. With v2, loading starts straight away.
No time lost in communication: v1 sends messages back and forth between the page and the widget (PostMessages). v2 communicates directly.
Core Web Vitals
Thanks to the native integration and the small resource size, we achieve 100% in every category of Lighthouse, the tool Google uses to assess websites: Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices and SEO.
WCAG compliance
We meet all requirements of WCAG 2.2.
Since June 2025, digital accessibility has also been a legal requirement: in Germany under the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG), in Austria under the Barrierefreiheitsgesetz (BaFG). Both implement the same EU directive, the European Accessibility Act. Whether the obligation applies to you depends on your company and what you offer — our widget meets the requirements either way.
What advantages does Pinpoll offer beyond v2?
Better ad integration
With our Floating Ad and Understitial formats, content shifts are minimized while saving valuable page space. This prevents elements further down the page from being pushed unnecessarily far down - an important advantage, especially for providers like Outbrain or Taboola, whose placements are often contractually fixed.
Strong data protection
