SMS verification is now available to our customers without a third-party provider.

How to Activate Sms Verification?

This function can be found in the creation and editing mode in the "Security" section:

If this option is not included in your plan, a button will be shown to contact our sales team:

Once That Is Done, You Can Move On to the Following Steps:

  1. The API endpoint "Pinpoll" is already selected when you activate the SMS verification switch.

  2. Define a sender name.

  3. Think about a text for your SMS with a maximum length of 153 characters (including placeholders, see points 4 + 5).

  4. Mandatory: insert the placeholder ":code" for the numerical code in the text at a suitable position.

  5. Optional: by using the placeholder ":minutes" you signal to the user that the 6-digit code is valid for a maximum of 5 minutes from receiving the SMS (this value is fixed).

  6. Optional: you can select a country code prefix, which will be displayed to the user in the first place. If you leave this field empty, "+43" for Austria will be displayed by default.

  7. Optional: From the list of allowed countries you may select all countries with accepted area codes.

After those settings have been made, you are good to go. The best way to test it is to open the direct link to the poll:

And This Is How It Works for the User?

The user votes and is invited to enter a cell phone number:

The text that shows is fixed. The colour of the button can be changed via the accent color in the poll settings.

After clicking on "Send code", the user receives an SMS containing the code that is now valid for a maximum of 5 minutes:

The user must now enter this code into the interface:

Only after the correct code has been entered, the vote will be counted.
